From 12th to 13th March 2016, we celebrated in Gat Rossio our special event called TallerGat Spain, hosted by the well-known photographer and architect Nicanor García.
Nicanor Garcia proposed a workshop based on the city and what it can offer to a photographic eye, paying special attention to the architecture that conforms the city and people who give it life. This allowed us to establish narratives across the two issues and explore its links.
The workshop was planned in two half-days, which included a theoretical part which will provide the technical and creative keys for the two types of photographs that will be studied. We reviewed its fundamental concepts and techniques, as well as we analyzed and implemented unique examples.
NICANOR GARCÍA PROFILE
Nicanor specializes in architectural photography, city and travel, though he has worked as an architect for many years. He is the author of various buildings such as the Tower Inbisa in Barcelona or the IES Els Ports de Morella in Castellon, finalist of the FAD 2007. For 8 years he has been a professor of architectural projects at the ETSA of Barcelona. He also has more than 740,000 followers on Instagram, being one of the leaders in his field.
As a photographer, he also works on travel photography having worked with various state tourism agencies such as Germany, Jordan, Vienna or Catalunya and has collaborated with various brands and institutions such as Canon, Apple, HP, Infiniti, Turkish Airlines or the Basilica of the Sagrada Familia and many more.
His knowledge of the city and its architecture allows him to have a unique vision as a photographer, combining geometry and synthesis in each photograph.
Del 12 al 13 de marzo en Gat Rossio, Lisboa, hemos celebrado un evento especial bajo el nombre de TallerGat Spain dirigido por el reconocido fotógrafo y arquitecto Nicanor García.

Nicanor García propuso un taller basado en la ciudad y lo que ella ofrece a los ojos fotográficos, poniendo especial atención a la arquitectura que la configura y las personas que la dan vida. Esto permitió establecer narraciones cruzadas entre ambas temáticas y explorar sus vínculos.

El taller fue planteado en dos medias jornadas, teniendo una parte teórica que dará las claves técnicas y creativas de los dos tipos de fotografías a estudiar. Se revisaron sus conceptos y técnicas fundamentales, a la vez que se analizaron ejemplos singulares y se pusieron en práctica todo ello.
PERFIL DE NICANOR GARCÍA
Nicanor está especializado en fotografía de arquitectura, ciudad y viaje, aunque durante muchos años ha trabajado como arquitecto, siendo autor de diversos edificios como la Torre Inbisa en Barcelona o el IES Els Ports de Morella en Castellón, finalista de los FAD 2007. Su conocimiento en de la ciudad y la arquitectura le permite tener una visión singular como fotógrafo, combinando la geometría y la síntesis en cada foto.
